The 2006 Volleyball World League reaches new heights!

Egypt incorporated
Lausanne Switzerland, 8 September 2005.- A historical decision was taken by the Volleyball World League Council today in Lausanne, with the Prize Money reaching 20 million USD for the first time ever and thus setting an unprecedented level for a global team sport event.
The FIVB, largest sport organization in the world selected among 18 candidates the following 16 countries that were bidding for one of the vacancies in this prestigious event: BRAZIL, SERBIA & MONTENEGRO, POLAND and CUBA the four winners of the 2005 World League final in Belgrade, UNITED STATES and RUSSIA, coming back after several years of absence due to an internal reorganization, FRANCE, ITALY, PORTUGAL, GREECE and BULGARIA are the other European powers in the League that will face JAPAN, KOREA and CHINA from Asia plus ARGENTINA from America and EGYPT the first team ever from Africa.
The incorporation of Egypt makes the World League the first sport event being played in the 5 five continents.
